- No digital bugles - this is a live performance.
- Each player must be able to play Taps.
- Auditions (day of event) - Players will be required to demonstrate their ability to play Taps unless pre-qualified through a band or group leader.
- Starting note
- G-bugles will start on G
- Bb-bugles (no valves) - These can be used in the cascading version of Taps but can not play the same pitches as the other instruments if a mass playing performed.
- Bb instruments will start on low E (this will enable younger players to participate).
- F-instruments must match the G -bugle pitches
- Dress appropriate for occasion - No jeans or shorts
- Review technique for transferring bugle call from one player to the next.
- Age limit - There is no age limit. Players of all ages are welcome.
- The only requirements are the ability to play Taps and to play for someone.
